John Moreland

John Moreland is an American singer-songwriter working in alternative country, americana and country music. He is from Longview, United States, and is associated with Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Career

Moreland first records under the name Black Gold Band, which operates from 2006 to 2010. During that period he issues a full-band demo in 2006, Endless Oklahoma Sky in 2008, and a solo demo session in 2009 before retiring the Black Gold Band name. He then continues writing and recording under his own name, with Things I Can't Control planned for release in 2010.

Collaborations and recording personnel

Wayne Wedge, the guitarist from Black Gold Band, returns to play secondary guitar parts in Moreland’s later work. Producer Stephen Egerton, known for his work with ALL and Descendents, plays drums on studio sessions. In 2010, Moreland also appears on the multi-artist studio project The Seven Degrees of Stephen Egerton, alongside members of Drag the River, Descendents, MxPx and others.
