Reverend and The Makers
Reverend and The Makers are an English rock band from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, active since 2005. The group is fronted by Jon McClure, who is nicknamed “The Reverend”.
Career
The band’s debut album, The State of Things, is released in 2007 and helps establish them in Britain. It also produces the UK top 10 single “Heavyweight Champion of the World”. Their second album, A French Kiss in the Chaos, follows in 2009 and leads to an invitation to support Oasis on their final tour, including a performance at Wembley Stadium.
The band’s third studio album, @Reverend_Makers, appears in 2012. Their fourth album, ThirtyTwo, is released in 2014 and has more electronic and dance music influences. It is followed by Mirrors in 2015 and The Death of a King in 2017, which has a hard rock and folk-influenced sound.
Their seventh album, Heatwave in the Cold North, is released in 2023 and becomes the band’s first UK Top 10 album in 16 years.
