Cross The Tracks returns on Sunday 24 May 2026 to Brockwell Park (Norwood Road, Brixton, SE24 9BJ) for a day of live music and family fun. This open-air festival has become a beloved annual celebration of jazz, funk, soul and hip-hop in London. From the moment the gates open, thousands of fans gather to dance, eat, and soak up a soulful soundtrack under the summer sky. Whether you're a longtime music lover or just looking for a fun day out in the city, this community-spirited event invites everyone to join in the groove. Packed with colourful festival fashion and friendly faces, Cross The Tracks truly feels like one big outdoor party.
Spread across multiple stages and tents around the park, the festival showcases a broad lineup of jazz, funk, soul and hip-hop artists. Attendees can expect a diverse mix of heritage legends, current icons and rising stars. Whether it's a smooth jazz quartet, a fiery funk band, a sultry soul singer or an energetic hip-hop DJ, there's something to get everyone moving. The organisers pride themselves on building a program that honours the rich history of these musical genres while spotlighting tomorrow's talent. Festival-goers can wander between stages to enjoy back-to-back sets, sing along to classic tunes and discover exciting new performers.
But Cross The Tracks isn't just about the music – it's a feast for all the senses. Dozens of independent artisans pop up market stalls throughout the park, offering handmade crafts, original artwork, jewelry, clothing and more. In the Discover area you can join free workshops, panel talks or wellness sessions hosted by cultural partners and charities. And when hunger strikes, the festival's food village comes alive with more than 70 street food stalls serving everything from Caribbean jerk chicken and spicy curry to gourmet burgers, vegan treats and sweet desserts. Grab a craft beer or a summer cocktail from one of the pop-up bars, then head back for the next act feeling refreshed.
Brockwell Park itself provides the idyllic setting. Its wide meadows and gentle hill mean you can lounge on a picnic blanket, soak up the sun or dance right in front of the stage. Surrounded by ancient trees and open skies, the park adds to the relaxed, joyous atmosphere. The festival vibe is friendly and welcoming - there are dedicated children's areas and family-friendly facilities, but even grown-ups will feel like kids at heart. Everywhere you look, you'll see smiling faces, impromptu dance circles on the grass, and impassioned jam sessions in the afternoon. As evening falls, the lights and live performances keep the energy high long after sundown.
Whether you're planning a day out with friends or bringing the whole family, Cross The Tracks promises an unforgettable day of music, food and fun. It's a chance to discover new favourite bands, soak in some culture, and make memories outdoors. Get ready to cross from the ordinary into the extraordinary - grab your tickets early, pack your dancing shoes and sunhat, and prepare for a soulful season of sounds. We can't wait to welcome you to the party!
Brockwell Park (Norwood Road, Brixton, SE24 9BJ) is easy to reach by public transport. The closest Tube stop is Brixton on the Victoria Line; from there it's a short taxi ride or about a 15-20 minute walk to the main entrance of the park. Southern and Thameslink trains stop at Herne Hill and Tulse Hill, each only a few minutes' walk away. London's extensive bus network also serves the area - buses such as the 2, 3, 37, 196, 322, 432 and 690 run along Norwood Road and nearby streets, connecting Brixton with Clapham, Camberwell and other parts of the city. Using an Oyster or contactless payment card is recommended for convenience on all London transport.
If you're coming from outside London or abroad, plan to arrive via a major airport and then travel into the city. From Heathrow, take the Heathrow Express or Piccadilly line into central London, then switch to the Victoria line (southbound) and ride all the way to Brixton. Gatwick has frequent trains to London Victoria or London Bridge, from where you can continue by Tube or train to reach Herne Hill or Brixton. Stansted and Luton have express trains to Liverpool Street and King's Cross/St Pancras respectively; from either station, take the Tube (or a short train) southbound to Brixton. Once you're in central London, simply hop on the Victoria line to Brixton or take a short local train to Herne Hill - both stations are just a few minutes' walk from Brockwell Park. Allow plenty of extra travel time on busy weekends and check schedules in advance.
If you prefer to drive, Brockwell Park is accessible via several main roads. From central London, you can take the A23 (Brixton Road) or A215 (Kennington Lane) southbound into Brixton. Other routes via Streatham Hill or Clapham from the south and west also bring you toward Brockwell Park. Once in Brixton, follow signs for Norwood Road. On festival day, the roads near the park will be very busy and parking in the immediate area is limited. Many visitors choose to park farther away and use public transport, a bike or a short taxi ride for the final stretch. Note that London's Congestion Charge and ULEZ rules may apply if your route passes through central London. If you do drive, allow plenty of extra time and check for parking restrictions.
There are many accommodation options in and around Brixton if you plan to stay overnight. Brixton offers small hotels, guesthouses and B&Bs, and more are available in nearby areas like Clapham, Camberwell, Herne Hill and Streatham. Some festival-goers stay near major stations (for example, Waterloo, Victoria or London Bridge) and travel by Tube to Brixton on the day of the event. Booking websites and apps list rooms for all budgets, but London is busy during holiday weekends so it's wise to book early. Wherever you stay, London's excellent transport network makes reaching the park easy by Tube, bus or train.
