The View
The View is a Scottish indie rock band from Dundee, United Kingdom. The group is active from 2005 and is signed to 1965 Records. Pete Reilly is listed as a member of the band.
Origins and early development
The band starts out in Dundee and first bases itself at The Bayview pub in the Menzieshill district, close to its native Dryburgh. It takes its name from that pub. The group then moves to The Doghouse, a music venue in Dundee city centre, where it attracts attention from local promoters, management and an expanding audience.
Career
The View begins performing in the music scene in early 2005 and supports acts including Babyshambles, Primal Scream and The Undertones. Its debut single, Wasted Little DJs, appears in 2006 and enters the UK MTV/NME video chart as well as the UK singles chart, where it reaches number 15. The band’s first album, Hats Off to the Buskers, also reaches number one in the British album chart.
