Savages

Savages are a London-based all-female post-punk group led by Jehnny Beth. The line-up consists of Jehnny Beth on vocals, Gemma Thompson on guitar, Ayşe Hassan on bass and Fay Milton on drums. The band forms in 2011 and remains active.

The group comes from London, United Kingdom. Jehnny Beth and Gemma Thompson are also members of John & Jehn, and both are associated with Pop Noire Records. Savages are identified with post-punk, and their broader style includes art punk, gothic rock, noise rock and rock.

Releases

After a series of live performances, Savages release the double A-side single Savages in 2012, followed by the live EP I Am Here later the same year. Their debut album, Silence Yourself, appears on Matador Records in 2013. A promo video for The Answer is also issued, and their second album Adore Life is announced with a 10-track running order.
