Tramlines Announce Yet More Acts

There are only four weeks to go until Tramlines takes over Sheffield, and festival organisers have added yet another raft of artists to the already amazing line up.

65daysofstatic return to Sheffield for their only scheduled hometown appearance this year.

The band’s Sleepwalk City event will present a unique and immersive audio-visual experience in the Millennium Gallery, exploring submersion, noise, and the collapse of everything.

Open throughout the Saturday and Sunday of the Tramlines weekend, this multi-speaker and digital projection installation will feature original music based on sections of 65daysofstatic’s forthcoming sixth album, released in September 2013. On the Saturday and Sunday evenings the installation will be accompanied by a series of experimental live performances by the band.

Also announced for the festival, indie-pop outfit Dog is Dead will be headlining Stage 2 on Sunday 21 July as part of a lineup curated by local band Rolo Tomassi. Ex Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell & Zazou join the line up at the Leadmill together with King Charles and Charlie Boyer and the Voyeurs, while BBC Introducing favourites The Heartbreaks and hotly-tipped newcomers IYES are added to the bill at The Harley. 

Tramlines, the UK’s biggest inner city festival, returns for a fifth year on Friday 19 July, and runs until Sunday 21 July, with a bigger and better music programme than ever before.

Already confirmed are Lianne La Havas, Toddla T Sound, David Rodigan MBE, The Selecter, Tensnake, B. Traits, Theo Parrish, New Young Pony Club, Shangaan Electro, Fenech Soler, Slow Club, Jim Jones Revue, The Invisible, 2.54, Friends, Rolo Tomassi and Dutch Uncles.

Tramlines attracts over 150,000 people over the three day festival, turning Sheffield into one massive festival site, creating the feel and atmosphere that rivals any green field festival site.

Over 60 of Sheffield’s music venues and performance spaces will be pulling out the stops staging hundreds of artists across the city. Devonshire Green's Main Stage and the new ¬and ¬improved Stage 2 will be home to some of the most exciting artists around. 

There'll be an expanded dance music programme, a Street Theatre area, and the welcome return of the Folk Forest, the Peace Gardens' World Stage, the Buskers Bus, the Weston Park party and the Blues and Ale Trail.

All this for only £6 a day! 

Festival Director Sarah Nulty commented: “This year’s line up just gets better and better! We have worked really hard to deliver a fantastic diverse line¬ up this year and I think the latest line up announcement just strengthens that.

Free family entertainment will still be on offer around the city and most of the city's pubs will be putting on a show that can also be enjoyed for free.

With a steadfast music programme over three days, Tramlines 2013 is expected to attract fans from across the UK.

Wrist bands are needed for the main stages and music venues you would usually pay to enter (Leadmill, Harley, DQ, Plug, O2 and so on) The wristband will also get you priority entry into free venues operating in the city centre.
