My Generation Weekender returns to Minehead for four days of nonstop music, dancing, and fun in January 2026. Set against the beautiful Somerset coast, this unique winter festival brings together generations of music lovers for a joyful celebration of classic tunes and new favorites. The friendly, laid-back atmosphere makes it the perfect place to catch up with friends, discover live bands, and enjoy good times by the sea. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to the scene, you'll feel welcome from the very first guitar strum and upbeat melody.

During the weekend, expect a thrilling mix of concerts, tribute acts, and DJ nights. Live bands will perform hit songs from the golden ages of rock, soul, and pop, filling the air with nostalgia and energy. When the sun sets over the sea, friendly crowds groove on the dance floor or gather by outdoor fire pits to sing along. Every hour holds something exciting with multiple stages and venues to explore, so there is always a chance to discover a new favorite artist. The positive vibe is contagious; you'll find yourself clapping, tapping your feet, and making new friends before you know it.

Minehead's scenic setting adds extra magic to the weekend. Nestled on the Somerset coast at the edge of Exmoor National Park, the town offers stunning winter seaside views and plenty of fresh air. When you need a break from dancing, stretch your legs along the promenade, explore nearby trails, or relax in a cosy cafe with a hot drink. The festival's location on Warren Road puts you just a short walk from the beach and scenic lookouts, so it's easy to blend music and nature. It's a rare chance to enjoy both great live entertainment and the soothing beauty of the coastline in a single getaway.

When hunger strikes, local food vendors and cosy cafes will be ready to fill you up. From hearty winter stews and warming soups to sweet treats and steaming hot chocolate, there's something to satisfy every craving. The festival feels like one big friendly party – people clap along, share stories, and sometimes break into impromptu karaoke duets around the bonfires. It's the kind of event where neighbors become friends, united by a shared love of music and good company. By the end of the weekend, you'll leave with a full stomach, a happy heart, and memories to last a lifetime.

Above all, My Generation Weekender is about joy, laughter, and celebrating the music that brings generations together. It's a beloved winter tradition for many, and it's easy to see why: a warm four-day gathering in a welcoming seaside town where every guest is part of the show. Dust off your dancing shoes and get ready to sing along – from the opening guitar riff on Friday to the final encore on Monday, this festival is one giant sing-along for the soul. Don't miss this chance to brighten up the winter with live music, great friends, and an atmosphere like no other. We can't wait to welcome you to Minehead for four unforgettable days of fun in January 2026!

By car, Minehead is easily reached via the M5 motorway. From London or the Midlands, take the M5 south to Taunton (junction 25), then follow the A358 and A39 into Minehead. Drivers coming from Wales or the north should also use the M5 toward Taunton before heading west on the A358/A39. The festival site on Warren Road is well signposted in town – for example, setting your GPS to Warren Road, Minehead (postcode TA24 5SH) will guide you directly to the venue. There is a large public car park on Warren Road, but it can fill up quickly, so arriving early or carpooling is advised, especially in winter when travel times may be longer.

Public transport links to Minehead are more limited. There is a heritage railway (the West Somerset Railway) that runs to Minehead from Bishops Lydeard (near Taunton), but it typically operates only in the warmer months. In winter, the usual route is to take a mainline train to Taunton — which has frequent services from London, Bristol, Exeter, and more — and then switch to a local bus or taxi for the final leg. Stagecoach buses (routes 28 and 28A) and National Express coaches also serve Minehead. National Express runs coaches that stop at Minehead (Butlins), and Stagecoach buses run roughly hourly between Taunton and Minehead (about an hour journey). From the Minehead bus stop, the festival is a short walk away.

The nearest major airports are in Exeter and Bristol, both about 70-80 miles away (roughly 1.5-2 hours by car). Exeter Airport has regional flights, while Bristol Airport offers flights from many UK and European cities. From either airport you can rent a car, or take trains and buses into Taunton and then onward to Minehead. For example, a train from Bristol Temple Meads to Taunton is quick, and Stagecoach buses run from Taunton station to Minehead. Other airports like Cardiff or Birmingham are farther (around 3-4 hours' drive), so Exeter or Bristol are usually the most convenient for visiting Minehead.

Once in Minehead, the festival site is conveniently located near the seafront and local amenities. Visitors can choose from a variety of accommodations: there are seaside hotels, cosy guesthouses, and holiday parks in Minehead. Because winter events can be popular, it's wise to book lodging early. Minehead's well-known resort complex (a short distance from Warren Road) offers on-site accommodation, and many local B&Bs and inns fill up during festival weekends. Campsites and caravan parks are available nearby as well (though winter weather can be wet), giving an alternative for those who love being close to nature. Whatever your choice, most places are within walking distance or a quick taxi ride of the festival. Once you arrive, the town is very walkable, so you can enjoy Minehead's shops, cafes, and beaches alongside the event.
