Setting & Atmosphere

Driving to the Festival: Margam Country Park (SA13 2PB) is a short drive off the M4 motorway. From the east (Cardiff) take Exit J38 (Margam Interchange) or from the west (Swansea) take Exit J39 (Port Talbot) and follow signs to “Old Park Farm” or “Margam Country Park”. Ample parking is provided on-site for festival-goers (often included with ticket price), and friendly stewards will direct you to the correct field. The roads are straightforward, and once you reach Port Talbot the festival signs make it easy to find the entrance.

Public Transport: The easiest train station is Port Talbot Parkway, served by frequent trains from Swansea, Cardiff and beyond. From the station, it’s a quick taxi ride or a short local bus trip to the park. Many visitors find it convenient to arrive by train and then hop on a taxi, grab an Uber, or use the special event shuttle that often runs between the town center and the festival grounds. (Check the official festival website closer to the date for any dedicated shuttle bus information.) Local buses also run in the area, so if you catch a Stagecoach bus towards Margam/Neath, you can get very close. On festival days you might also spot ride-sharing drop-off points near the entrance.

From Airports: The nearest airport is Cardiff Airport, about an hour’s drive away. From Cardiff, you can catch a train to Port Talbot (often via Bridgend) and then take a taxi or bus on. Alternatively, Bristol Airport is an option (roughly two hours away by car via the M4/M5), connecting via Cardiff or directly to Swansea and then on by train. Regardless of your flight, once you reach south Wales it’s easy to reach Port Talbot by train or car. Many festival visitors land at Cardiff, then complete their journey by renting a car or taking public transport. Uber and local taxi firms serve the Port Talbot area if you need a ride from the train station.

Accommodation Tips: For the full festival experience, many people choose to camp onsite across the weekend—In It Together provides separate fields for family tents and campervans, with basic facilities. If camping isn’t your thing, you’ll find hotels, B&Bs and guesthouses in the surrounding towns. Port Talbot (near M4 Junction 39) has familiar chains and local inns. The nearby town of Neath (10 minutes’ drive) and the city of Swansea (around 20 minutes away) offer more options including larger hotels and holiday rentals. Remember that this is a busy holiday weekend, so booking accommodation well in advance is wise. Whether you stay by the coast or inland, you’ll only be a short journey from the festival magic at Margam.
