Get ready for an unforgettable weekend at Hardwick Festival! This beloved three-day music and culture festival returns to the scenic village of Sedgefield in County Durham, taking over the historic Hardwick Hall grounds from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd August 2026. Nestled in lush parkland just off the A1(M), Hardwick Festival transforms the beautiful estate into a lively open-air venue. Enjoy a warm community vibe among ancient trees, rolling lawns and a 19th-century courtyard stage that combine nature with entertainment.

Music lovers will find multiple stages and genres to explore. From Durham you can catch the Arriva X12 (or X22) bus to Sedgefield Racecourse; that stop is a short walk from Hardwick Hall and the festival grounds. There is no train station in Sedgefield itself, so most visitors arriving by train transfer via these hubs on by bus or taxi. During festival weekends, there may also be coach services running from larger cities like Newcastle, Sunderland or Middlesbrough with drop-offs near the site.

In terms of air travel, Teesside International Airport (Durham Tees Valley) is only about 11 miles away (around a 20-minute drive). Newcastle International Airport (about 35 miles north) is a larger hub with many flights, though reaching it requires a longer drive. Both airports offer car hire and taxis. Manchester and Leeds/Bradford airports are much farther (roughly 2-3 hours by car), but they connect by train to Durham or Darlington for onward travel to Sedgefield.

Accommodation is plentiful in and around Sedgefield. The on-site Hardwick Hall Hotel offers comfortable rooms in a historic setting just a short walk from the festival stages. Nearby Sedgefield village has a few inns and B&Bs, and towns like Durham, Darlington and Stockton-on-Tees (20-30 minutes away) have more hotels, apartments and guesthouses. Many festivalgoers also choose camping: the Sedgefield Racecourse often provides tent and caravan pitches with basic facilities during event weekends. Wherever you stay, it’s wise to book early since places fill up quickly on a summer weekend.
