Godney Gathering is a vibrant micro-festival set in the heart of the Somerset Levels. Join us on July 17-18, 2026 at scenic Garslade Farm in Godney, where you’ll experience two days of live music, art, and fun under open skies. Nestled among fields near Glastonbury, this self-described community event has quickly earned a reputation as one of the South West’s friendliest festivals. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, you’ll feel the warm festival spirit as soon as you arrive. The surrounding nature reserves, meadows, and gentle waterways provide a picture-perfect backdrop for this unique countryside celebration.
For 2026, we’re planning an eclectic lineup across multiple stages. You might find yourself dancing to a reggae groove, swaying to indie folk, or tapping along to local rock and pop. The festival features stages for every mood: a lively main stage for headline acts, a chill-out acoustic corner, and even a DJ-powered silent disco for late-night fun. Talented comedians and cabaret performers also grace the stage between sets, ensuring there’s never a dull moment. Every performer is chosen to surprise and delight, guaranteeing that every hour brings something new and exciting.
Beyond the music, Godney Gathering offers plenty of adventures for all ages. Stroll through the craft market and sample delicious local food and drink. Enjoy interactive art installations or drop in on a yoga or wellness workshop in the morning sun. Kids will love the dedicated playground area, full of games, crafts, and family-friendly fun. You may even bump into a wandering magician or a stilt-walker among the festival fields, adding whimsy and wonder to the warm summer air.
As night falls, the fun keeps flowing. Gather with friends around a glowing campfire or dance under the stars at the vibrant silent disco. If you’re camping on-site, pitch your tent in our grassy fields and sleep under a blanket of stars. Food stalls and pop-up bars keep the good times going with local ales, ciders, and refreshing beverages. Whether you’re swapping stories by the fire or spinning to funky beats, Godney Gathering’s relaxed campsite vibe is just as memorable as the main show.
At its heart, Godney Gathering is about celebrating community and creativity. Organized by passionate volunteers, the festival champions local music and sustainable practices. See this in the eco-friendly decor and locally-sourced food stalls around the venue. Music lovers and families mingle freely, creating an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere. The festival’s green setting invites you to explore: take a quiet moment by the nearby river or watch birds in the Westhay Moor nature reserve at dawn. Every element of the Gathering is crafted to make guests relax and connect in this beautiful slice of Somerset countryside.
Ready for an unforgettable midsummer experience? Pack your sunhat and wellies, grab a picnic mat, and head to Godney. On 17-18 July 2026, the gates open to welcome you to the festival of a lifetime. We can’t wait to celebrate with you in our little corner of Somerset. See you on the farm for music, magic, and memories under the sky.
Driving is typically the easiest way to reach Godney, especially if you’re coming with camping gear. Use postcode BA5 1RX for GPS directions to Garslade Farm on Godney Road. From the M5 motorway (head north from Exeter/Bristol or south from Birmingham/London), follow signs to Glastonbury via the A39 or A371 and then local country lanes. The festival site generally offers parking to attendees, though spaces can fill up quickly. We recommend car-sharing if possible to ease congestion in the lanes.
For public transport, be aware that Godney is not directly served by rail. The closest major train stations are Bath Spa or Bristol Temple Meads (each about 30–40 miles away) or the smaller Castle Cary station (about 25 miles). From any of these, take a bus or taxi toward Glastonbury or Wells and then a taxi or ride-share for the final stretch. Bus services, such as the Mendip Xplorer (Bath to Wells via Street/Glastonbury), run through Glastonbury. You may also find occasional coach services to nearby larger towns, especially on event weekends.
For air travellers, the closest airport is Bristol Airport (BRS), roughly a 45-minute drive from Godney. Exeter Airport is another option (around 1.5 hours away by car). From any airport, the best approach is to hire a car or arrange a private transfer into the local area. Some festival-goers choose to fly into London and then continue by train/coach, but this adds several hours of travel time.
Accommodation near Godney caters to various preferences. If on-site camping is available, it’s a convenient option, but advance booking is advisable. Otherwise, you’ll find B&Bs, inns, and small hotels in Glastonbury, Wells, or nearby villages. Bath and Bristol have more hotel options, though they are further away (requiring an extra drive). Summer weekends are busy around here, so book early. Many guests split their stay between nearby towns (with taxi or rideshare for the commute) to balance convenience and choice.
