Martin Garrix

Martijn Gerard Garritsen is a Dutch musician and producer from Amstelveen, Netherlands. Born in 1996, he works in big room house, dance-pop, EDM, electro house, festival progressive house and tropical house. He is also known through the project AREA21.

Career

Garrix signs a professional contract with Spinnin’ Records in 2012 and releases his first track, “Keygen,” on the label. In 2015, he starts his own label, and later signs a worldwide contract with Sony Music International. His recorded output continues to focus on electronic dance music, with collaborations forming an important part of his work.

Recognition and residencies

He is named DJ Mag’s top DJ worldwide in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022 and 2024. He also holds high-profile residencies at Hï Ibiza and OMNIA Nightclub.

Albums and style

In 2023, Garrix releases his debut artist album Sentio. The album marks a move toward a more melodic and introspective sound while keeping the high-energy drops associated with his earlier work.
