Sir Lenny Henry to Perform at Latitude Festival

Sir Lenny Henry is to make an exclusive UK music festival appearance at Suffolk's Latitude. The festival, which is now in its 20th year, will return to Henham Park near Southwold from 23 to 26 July. Musical acts such as Lewis Capaldi, David Byrne and Teddy Swims have already been announced as headliners.

Exclusive Performance

Sir Lenny said he was "delighted" to be bringing his show Still At Large to the festival and he expected the performance to be really "special". "Latitude has built this wonderful reputation for comedy over the years, and that means a lot to me," he said. "This show is my celebration of five decades in this business, from standing up in working men's clubs as a teenager to playing an elf in Middle-earth. I'll be sharing stories about the characters I've played, the people I've met, and the moments that have stuck with me from The Lenny Henry Show and Chef! to Othello and everything in between."

Comedy and Music Lineup

Comedians Flo and Joan, Chloe Petts, and Fatiha El-Ghorri are also included in the comedy lineup. Musical acts this year include David Gray, The Undertones, Gok Wan, James Marriott and Alessi Rose, Tom Grennan, Vanessa Carlton, Tom Odell, Wet Leg, Billy Ocean, and Alex James Britbop Classical.

Founder's Statement

Melvin Benn, Latitude founder and festival director, said he was "thrilled" to welcome Sir Lenny to the festival and expected it to be a "truly special performance". "Twenty years ago, Latitude became the first festival to place comedy on equal footing with music, and that bold vision has shaped everything we've become," he said.
