Merseyside singer-songwriter Bill Ryder-Jones and multi-instrumentalist The Anchoress are set to join Manic Street Preachers at this year’s Eden Sessions with ASUS on July 9.

Bill started his career in 1996 as guitarist and co-founder of psychedelic folk-rock band The Coral and was with them until 2008 before beginning a solo career. He has since released three albums.

His third solo album, West Kirby County Primary, was released last November, having been recorded in his childhood bedroom in his mum’s house in West Kirby.

He was also a guest guitarist on Arctic Monkeys' AM Tour, has written the soundtrack to a novel and composed several film scores.

Welsh singer, songwriter, producer and author Catherine Anne Davies, better known as The Anchoress, released her debut album Confessions of a Romance Novelist in January this year to critical acclaim.

The Anchoress counts Manic Street Preachers as one of her key influences. She said: “The Manics changed my whole world.”

Manic Street Preachers will be playing material from their 12-album back catalogue which includes tracks such as A Design for Life, Motorcycle Emptiness, Your Love Alone Is Not Enough and If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next among countless others.

Eden’s amazing summer of music kicks off with Duran Duran live at Eden with BBC Music Day with Laura Mvula and Izzy Bizu (June 3).

This is followed by top acts at the Eden Sessions - Lionel Richie with Corinne Bailey Rae (June 14 and 15), Jess Glynne (June 22 and July 14) Tom Jones (June 26), PJ Harvey (June 27). Tickets are still available for Jess Glynne’s June 22 show, PJ Harvey and Manic Street Preachers.

The Eden Sessions has its own free-to-view online TV channel (www.youtube.com/edensessionstv) featuring regularly-updated videos of some of the gigs' finest shows.
