Razorlight performing Big busk event in London

Razorlight will be performing a ‘Big Busk’ event in St Martin’s Courtyard, Covent Garden on Tuesday 24th May at 5.30pm.

This impromptu gig marks 20 years of The Big Issue and is hosted in conjunction with Get Loaded in the Park, which Razorlight headline on 12th June. It is one of a series of ‘Big Busk’ gigs designed to mark 20 years since The Big Issue launched.

After announcing via his twitter page that Razorlight wanted to mark their first major London show in two years with a special gesture for fans, Johnny Borrell has persuaded the organizers of Get Loaded in the Park to offer free drinks to anyone purchasing tickets by a designated link.

When asked what inspired him to make the offer Johnny Borrell said “The idea came from the fans. Its been a while since we've played a big London show and the response has been fantastic so we were looking to do something special. A few people on twitter suggested that we got a round in so we thought why not?"

An indie and live bands showcase as strong as you will see in London this year, Get Loaded in the Park returns to Clapham Common in triumphant style on Sunday 12th June.

Headlining the main stage a new look Razorlight come fresh from a show stealing performance at the Camden Crawl. They will be joined by The Cribs who arrive at Get Loaded having destroyed Rockness the previous night. Further main stage performances from Noisettes, British Sea Power, Patrick Wolf, Los Campesinos!, Connan Mockasin and special guests The Rifles.

In the Gigwise arena Darwin Deez plays his only London show of 2011 alongside About Group. The side project of Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor, About Group will showcase tracks from their second abum. Yelle, O.Children, Babeshadow, Spector and Alpines will also all help get everyone in the summer mood. Finally The Flower Post host the Last.FM arena with the brilliant Johnny Flynn playing with Slow Club, Sound Of Rum, The Agitator, Beans On Toast, Six Nation State, Dark Moon and The Joker And The Thief.
