Josh T Pearson Announces An Evening With Show

Having made his terrestrial TV debut on Later With Jools Holland on Tuesday night, Josh T. Pearson has announced a brand new London show 'An Evening with Josh T. Pearson and Guests' at the Barbican.

Josh T. Pearson’s debut solo album 'Last Of The Country Gentlemen '- a collection of seven songs drawn from the lessons of what he describes as “a rough year”, was released in March to universal acclaim after a self imposed hiatus that stretched out over ten years.

Josh T. Pearson will release the single, ‘Woman When I’ve Raised Hell’ on 9th May as an accompaniment to a special one off show on 11th May at Union Chapel where a string quartet will embellish his normally skeletal arrangements. To say it will be special is a serious understatement, following a recent solo show in London which The Times gave 5/5 and described as follows, "Not since Leonard Cohen has an artist emerged who can evoke such profound extremes of human emotion through the device of a simple musical performance."

Added to this, there will be a special Limited 250 pressing on 12” of two exclusive piano versions of ‘Sweetheart I Aint Your Christ’ & ‘Country Dumb for Record Store Day plus a track on Mute’s Vorwarts compilation and an appearance at the Rough Trade pop up store in Paris that day. On 14 May Josh will also appear covering his favourite Mute songs at the Short Circuit presents Mute festival at the Roundhouse, London.

The man’s legendary musical output continues to grow in stature. Many will be familiar with the short-lived phenomenon that was Lift to Experience, which released one sprawling masterpiece, 2001's The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads, before splitting up soon after. So beloved by John Peel were they that he had LTE record three sessions in five months and were included in the Best 125 Peel Sessions of all time.
