Green Man Festival returns to the scenic Usk Valley from 20–23 August 2026. Nestled in the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons) national park in South Wales near the town of Crickhowell, the festival site is surrounded by rolling hills and majestic mountain views. This four-day independent music and arts event offers a warm, community atmosphere where families, friends and first-timers can relax and discover live entertainment. Green Man is known for its creative spirit and friendly vibe. Whether you are a music lover, culture enthusiast or nature fan, the combination of great performances and the beautiful rural setting makes for an unforgettable summer experience.

Throughout the weekend, stages across the site will showcase dozens of live musical acts, ranging from chart-topping headliners to hidden gems. Genres span everything from indie rock, folk and soul to electronic, dance and world music, ensuring there’s something for every taste. Throughout the afternoons, intimate acoustic singers mingle with upbeat DJs and folk bands, and in the evenings the main stages come alive with energetic shows under the stars. Alongside big acts, Green Man highlights emerging talent and local bands, so visitors can expect a mix of familiar names and new discoveries at every stage.

Green Man is about more than just music. The festival site is divided into themed areas hosting literature talks, film screenings, comedy shows, science demonstrations, theatre performances and hands-on workshops. In Einstein’s Garden, for example, interactive exhibits cover topics like astronomy, ecology and technology in a fun, playful setting. There is also a circus and performance tent for all-ages entertainment, offering activities from face-painting and storytelling to acrobatic displays. Food and drink vendors offer local Welsh cuisine and craft beer, with many vegetarian and vegan options to satisfy a variety of tastes.

Green Man prides itself on being an inclusive, eco-conscious gathering. The friendly atmosphere means people from all backgrounds mix easily, and special family camping areas and children's activities keep the little ones happily entertained. Sustainability is at the core of Green Man’s ethos: recycling points are everywhere, many stages run on solar power or clean fuels, and charities collect leftover tents and food after the festival. The emphasis on local culture is strong, with Welsh bands, artists and producers featured throughout.

Whether you come for the headliners or just the beautiful outdoors, Green Man 2026 promises a blend of top-notch entertainment, creativity and warm Welsh hospitality. Picture yourself dancing under the stars one evening, practicing yoga in a morning meadow, or enjoying a comedy sketch as the sun sets behind the hills. Every corner of the festival offers something new to discover, all set against the backdrop of the Usk Valley’s rolling green hills. Join thousands of fellow festival-goers to celebrate music, art and nature at this beloved Welsh festival.

The festival site is located near Crickhowell in the Brecon Beacons (postcode NP8 1LP). By car, follow the A40 motorway through the Usk Valley – for example, take the A40 west from Abergavenny, or from Cardiff follow the A449 north then the A40 – as directed by road signs. On the day, there will be official parking for those with a parking pass, plus a Park & Ride site a few miles from Green Man on the A40 (with shuttle buses to the festival grounds). Drivers should allow extra time, as the narrow country roads can get busy during the event.

Public transport to Green Man requires some planning. The nearest train station is Abergavenny (around 15 minutes by car), with frequent services from Cardiff, Newport, Manchester, Birmingham and other cities. From Abergavenny, travelers can hire a local taxi or use a festival shuttle to reach the site. Regional buses (such as the X43) run through Crickhowell between Brecon, Abergavenny and Cardiff, though schedules are limited. Some coach companies also operate special festival routes that stop at or near Green Man.

For air travelers, Cardiff Airport is the closest major airport (roughly 1–1.5 hours’ drive south of the festival). Bristol and Birmingham airports are also within about 2–3 hours by road. From any of these airports, visitors can rent a car or take a train to Cardiff or Abergavenny and then continue by local transport to reach Green Man. The scenic A40 route winds through the Usk Valley; just follow signs for the festival as you approach.

Accommodation options near Green Man include both on-site and off-site choices. On the festival grounds there are general tent camping fields, campervan and caravan parking areas, and even paid glamping/bell-tent packages. Many people also stay in the surrounding area: Crickhowell village (just a few miles away) has several charming B&Bs, inns and guesthouses, while the larger towns of Brecon and Abergavenny (each about 30 minutes’ drive) have hotels and larger guest accommodations. Because this is a rural area and lodging fills up quickly in summer, it is wise to book any off-site stay well in advance.
