Started in 2013 the Grand Northern Ukulele Festival has caused a real storm for fans and appreciators of the instrument. The festival has become one of the biggest 2-day ukulele events in the whole of Europe and each year it just gets bigger and better, bringing some of the biggest names in ukulele playing to Huddersfield.
A non-for-profit festival the Grand Northern Ukulele Festival celebrates all there is to love about the instrument and the music it creates and as well as plenty of live music there are opportunities to participate and get involved. Local businesses get involved offering up their goods for sale in the market area and the festival is a celebration of people appreciating music as well as learning new things and engaging with the community.
Ukulele players and music enthusiasts alike get together at Huddersfield Town Hall to enjoy a wide range of different types of music and appreciate the instrument at its heart.
