Year of the Dog is a rock group from Cardiff, Wales. It has been active since 2018. The band is also described as a Finnish rock band in earlier material, with references to Kotka and Kymi in Finland, but its current origin is Cardiff.

Line-up

The group is made up of Toni “Gin Tonic” on drums, Lauri “Late” on guitar and vocals, Teemu “Tetsa” on guitar and vocals, and Miikka “Miika?” on bass and vocals.

Details

Lauri is credited with writing the songs. The band’s member descriptions also give each musician a dog-related “breed” nickname: Toni as “Puppy Doberman,” Lauri as “Collie,” Teemu as “St. Bernard,” and Miikka as “Poodle.” The text also notes that Toni calls his drums “Jenny,” that Lauri is associated with Kotka, that Teemu is from Kymi, and that Miikka’s first name is presented with uncertainty in the spelling.
