Swedish House Mafia

Swedish House Mafia is a Swedish electronic dance group from Stockholm, formed in 2008 and active since then. The group consists of Steve Angello, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso, all of whom are DJ/producers and label owners. Eric Prydz is also noted as having been a member for a period.

The three members begin working together in the mid-2000s, touring as DJs and appearing on one another’s productions before adopting the Swedish House Mafia name. Their breakout performance takes place on 12 August 2008 at Cream Amnesia in Ibiza, where they play the Main Room as part of Radio 1’s Essential Mix Ibiza.

Swedish House Mafia signs a major-label contract with EMI and makes its commercial production debut with One, also known as One (Your Name), which features Pharrell Williams on vocals. The track becomes a Top Ten hit in the United Kingdom, Sweden, the Netherlands and Belgium. It is followed by Save the World, which features John Martin, a fellow Swede the group first encounters the previous winter. Their song Don't You Worry Child becomes a major hit and reaches number one in the UK charts.

In June 2012, the group announces that its current tour will be its last together, and it makes its final appearance at Ultra Music Festival in March 2013. The group later reunites in March 2018 and closes Ultra Miami 2018. It then announces a Stockholm show for May 2019, with additional dates added because of demand, and begins its Save The World tour. The group also confirms that it is working on new music.

Its styles are generally described as house, dance, dance-pop, EDM, electro house, electronic and electropop.
