Ruarri Joseph is a UK singer-songwriter from Edinburgh, born in 1982. He performs as a solo artist and is also a member of William the Conqueror.

Solo career

Joseph begins his solo recording career with the EP All Substance and No Style, which he finishes in 2006 after a period of live performances in London that draws record label interest. He signs to Atlantic Records and releases his debut album, Tales of Grime and Grit, in 2007. He leaves Atlantic in 2008 and sets up his own label, Pip Productions.

His second album, Both Sides of The Coin, follows in 2009. He then starts work on Shoulder to the Wheel later the same year and issues it independently in 2010; the album later receives a wider physical and download release in November 2010 after he secures a new management deal. His fourth studio album, Brother, is released in 2012.

Style and earlier work

As a solo performer, Joseph uses acoustic guitar and piano, sometimes with backing from a band. Before his solo career, he plays in a number of groups including Eli Bowen and The Rhythm Doctors. He also moves from London to Newquay, Cornwall after attempting to build his career in London.

William the Conqueror

Since 2016, Joseph focuses on his band project William the Conqueror.
