Matt Pond is an American singer-songwriter from Brooklyn who works in indie rock. He forms and records with Matt Pond PA, the band most closely associated with his name, and has also been linked with The Wooden Birds, The Lowlifes and The Natural Lines. He releases music through Green Pond Songs.

Career

Pond builds a career as a musician with a long-running audience and a substantial recorded output. His work includes the title song for a film soundtrack and a seasonal Starbucks holiday commercial. He has sold more than 100,000 albums. The album The Lives Inside the Lines in Your Hand marks a solo release under his own name, without the “PA” used for nearly a decade in his artist billing. That release also reflects a move away from earlier associations with Pennsylvania, Brooklyn and a cabin in Bearsville, presenting him under the name Matt Pond alone.
