Hailu Mergia is an Ethiopian ethio-jazz and jazz musician, based in Washington, D.C., who works as a keyboardist, organ player, accordionist, composer and arranger. He is from Debre Berhan, Ethiopia, and is born in 1946.

Career

He is best known for his work with the Walias Band during the 1970s. The group is regarded as one of the most influential acts from Ethiopia’s musical golden age. He also performs with Shèbèlé's Band.
