Genticorum is a Québécois folk group from Montréal, active since 2000. It begins as a trio: Alexandre de Grosbois-Garand on flute, bass and vocals; Yann Falquet on guitar, jew’s harp and vocals; and Pascal Gemme on fiddle, foot percussion and vocals. Nicholas Williams is also listed as a member.

Style and repertoire

The group’s repertoire is mainly Québécois folk, with influences from Celtic music and other world folk traditions. It is associated with contra and folk music.

Career

Genticorum starts out playing together for fun in 2000, performing at local parties and friends’ houses before developing into an international representative of Québécois folk music.
