Foxes Faux

Foxes Faux are an English acoustic group from Keighley. They play a blend of folk, punk and country-tinged music, and they often choose to busk or perform acoustically rather than rely on standard gig formats. They are also known for adding acoustic sets after their main PA performances.

Early activity

The band forms in Keighley, West Yorkshire, and plays its first gig at Victoria Hall in its home town in January 2009. The group records and performs as an acoustic band, while still drawing on punk and country elements in its sound.

Releases

Foxes Faux build towards their debut album through a series of free digital download singles. Their debut double A-side single, Rioters Queue Here / Su Hermoso, appears in 2011 as a free download. This is followed by a cover of Outkast’s Hey Ya! in the same year, then Isabella / Mountains in 2012.

In 2012, the band releases its self-titled debut EP, which compiles remastered versions of the three free download singles. The recordings remain available to download for free.
