Don Broco

Don Broco are an alternative rock and post-hardcore group from Bedford, United Kingdom, active since 2008. The band’s line-up consists of Rob Damiani on lead vocals, Simon Delaney on guitar, Tom Doyle on bass and programming, Matt Donnelly on drums and lead and backing vocals, and Luke Rayner. Their sound is also associated with hard rock, metalcore, pop rock and rock.

Formation and early years

The band’s roots go back to school years at Bedford Modern School, where the members play their first gigs before later studying at Nottingham University. After that, they decide to form a band. The group is initially intended to be called Don Loco, but after Simon Delaney breaks his wrist in a football accident, the name changes to Don Broco. They begin touring England in November 2008.

Releases

Don Broco release four studio albums. Their debut album, Priorities, appears in 2012 after the single of the same name is released earlier that year. It is followed by Automatic in 2015 and Technology in 2018. Their fourth album, Amazing Things, arrives in 2021 and becomes their first release to reach number one in the UK Albums Chart. The group also issues the debut mini-album Big Fat Smile in 2011 and the standalone single You Wanna Know in 2013, which is also released with remixed versions.

Tours, festivals and support slots

In their early years, Don Broco play a series of British festivals including Camden Crawl, Download Festival, Boardmasters, Sonisphere, Slam Dunk, Underage Festival, Amersham Summer Festival, Hevy Festival, Hit the Deck and The Great Escape. They support Enter Shikari in 2009 and 2010, We Are The Ocean in spring 2011, Four Year Strong in early 2012, You Me At Six in Dublin and Belfast in 2012, and The Used on a UK tour with Marmozets. They also tour with Burn The Fleet, Deaf Havana, Lower Than Atlantis, Veara, Young Guns, Your Demise, Billy Talent, Awolnation and Young Kato.

Later activity

The band signs to Search and Destroy Records in March 2012. In 2022 they release the single Fingernails alongside the announcement of a UK arena tour with Papa Roach and Dance Gavin Dance. In 2023 they open for Pierce the Veil and The Used on the Creative Control Tour in North America.
