FixFest, the UK's first festival for tradespeople, will feature Dizzee Rascal, Scouting for Girls, and more. The event aims to celebrate the trades while addressing mental health in the construction industry.
Dizzee Rascal headlines FixFest
The summer festival season has saved one of its most unusual line-ups for last. On Saturday 30 August, Fix Radio will stage FixFest at the South of England Showground in Ardingly, West Sussex.
Billed as the country's first festival for the trades, the day mixes big-name music with a serious mission. Dizzee Rascal tops a bill that also includes Scouting for Girls, Toploader, and The Cuban Brothers. Alongside the live acts, festivalgoers can expect food stalls, trade-themed entertainment, and a “Power House” wellbeing hub run in partnership with mental health charities.
Celebrating and Supporting the Trades
Construction is one of the UK's most high-risk industries for suicide, and FixFest aims to spark conversation and provide support in addition to entertainment. Louis Timpany, CEO of Fix Radio, sees the event as both a thank-you and a wake-up call.
“I trained as a plasterer during lockdown, so I’ve got real respect for the trades,” said Dizzee Rascal. “Builders and tradies don't always get the credit they deserve, so I’m buzzing to be part of a brand-new festival that’s celebrating them and shining a light on all their hard work.”
Get Your Tickets
Tickets are £55 for general admission and £110 for VIP, with children under 14 getting in for free. The event is sponsored by Wickes and tickets can be purchased at FixFest.co.uk.
