Wigan Boy Band Making Waves in UK Music Festival Scene

Festival Crowd Header

Montello, a young Indie Rock band from Wigan, is quickly rising to fame with their unique sound and energetic performances at major music festivals.

The Journey of Montello

Breaking into the music industry is notoriously hard, but there's one band from Wigan already making it onto festival line-ups less than two years after forming.

Montello is made up of 18 year olds Jacob Knowles, Liam Conway, Jacob Ratcliffe and Toby Devereux, who all met at Winstanley College in Wigan, well regarded for its music program.

Aim for Uniqueness

Loosely describing themselves as Indie Rock, their aim has been to create a unique sound that can't be assigned to any specific genre. And so far it's been working well.

Rapid Rise to Fame

Over the last few months they've been playing at festivals across the UK, including the Isle of Wight Festival in June and this weekend, they're heading for a Sunday slot at Sheffield's Tramlines Festival.

Growing Support

  • Headlining Manchester Academy 3 to a near sold out crowd in 2024.
  • Headlined Off The Square to a sold out crowd in May.
  • Second headline gig of the year at The Deaf Institute in Manchester on November 8.

Influences and Music

Inspired by artists like The Beatles, David Bowie, The Specials, and The Smiths, Montello blends a variety of influences to create their unique sound. Their EP Montello on Spotify has been well-received by fans.

With their families fully behind them, the band is determined to give it their all in pursuit of success. Their dream is to release an album in the future.
