Stop Making Sense is Back with a Bang in 2012

Stop Making Sense Festival

Stop Making Sense presents an eclectic selection of musical delights over five days and nights by the sea. And they’re taking their friends with them…

Stop Making Sense is a music and dance festival, a summer haven and a sunshine getaway all rolled into one. But it’s really mostly about a true love of music – and in true Stop Making Sense tradition they’re taking some of the UK and Europe’s biggest and best party starters into the sunshine for a five-day musical celebration under sun and stars…

The list of crews taking part in Stop Making Sense 2012 presents a stellar lineup of DJs and bands from across the dance music spectrum – from jazz, folk and Latin to house and techno via reggae, dubstep and electro. Each crew brings along its residents who would smash this five-day party by themselves. But there’s even more to be announced as Stop Making Sense and all collaborating crews build an enviable eclectic electronica lineup. More soon to be announced, but for now…

Forward-thinking East London favourites Man Make Music, have just joined the action, as Stop Making Sense 2012’s star keeps on rising – and they’ve produced a mix to help shout about it: http://www.mixcloud.com/stopmakingsensefestival/.

Then… Bringing a Berlin house and techno flavour there’s Ostgut Ton and Panorama Bar residents. Energetic and free-thinking all-live Local Posse play across the board. Alternative party people Finger Lickin’ throw in a few curve balls. Parisian collective Secousse lock in with eclectic African-inspired dance beats. Balearica new versus old comes from Chris Coco’s Melodica. Bridging the Gap bloggers express themselves through ‘genreless’ sets. Big boys Deviation – BBC Radio 1’s Benji B’s soundsystem sensation – join the party. Raucous rumblers Dalston Superstore up the ante.

With Corsica Studios’ genre-ignoring in-house night Trouble Vision on board, the fun will just keep going. House, techno and disco sessions come from London’s Warm, with some of the finest DJs and producers on their massive roster, and Electric Minds who keep things on an underground tip. The dancefloor will be torn apart by cutting-edge disco dons DURRR, and techno and house heads will be happy that stalwarts Secretsundaze are along for the ride. And, exploring house in all its forms – from raw to disco, techno to jazz, soul and more – is Need2Soul.

Stop Making Sense 2012 is a kaleidoscope of sun, sea and eclectic entertainment. Now at its new home along the beautiful Croatian coastline – halfway between Split and Zadar – Stop Making Sense this year promises even more for party-goers. The music programme will run 12 noon until 1am in Tisno, with two stages, boat parties, a private beach, tiki bars, and much more… From 11pm to 7am, the late-night action continues at the local Barbarella’s open-air club. There’s nothing better than partying under Croatian stars until a steady sunrise takes revellers into a new day of the nonsensical and sublime.

You’ll be catching the sun, feasting, drinking and dancing all day long, with Stop Making Sense 2012
