Irish band Cliffords Boycotts Victorious Festival

Irish group Cliffords have boycotted the Victorious Festival in the UK after the event censored a performance by The Mary Wallopers over their pro-Palestine stance. Several other bands, including The Last Dinner Party and The Academic, also decided to pull out of the festival in solidarity.

Controversy at Victorious Festival

The controversy stemmed from The Mary Wallopers' set being cut short after a crew member removed a Palestinian flag from the stage. The incident led to frontman Charles Hendy leading the crowd in chants of 'Free Palestine'.

Responses and Apologies

Victorious Festival issued an apology for the incident, citing their policy against flags on stage for safety reasons. The Last Dinner Party and The Academic expressed their disagreement with political censorship and boycotted the festival in support of free speech.
