House Of Fun Weekender adds more acts including Ma

Madness’s House of Fun Weekender at Butlins Minehead just got even better with the addition of two fantastic new acts that are sure to captivate one and all.

With a truly eclectic line-up of bands, DJs and comedians curated by the band themselves the latest additions demonstrate the very depths of Madness’s impeccable taste.

Genre-refusenik Maverick Sabre adds his own inimitable flavour to the House of Fun Weekender, with a cross cultural collision of Reggae, Hip-Hop and Soul. After receiving high praise for his “The Travelling Man” mixtape and collaborations with Professor Green and Chase and Status, Maverick Sabre stepped out on his own, with his ethereal vocals and sublime guitar propelling him into the Top 20 with his debut single “Let Me Go”. Spontaneous and dynamic, Maverick Sabre’s live show has been turning heads, making him one not to miss.

Also joining the bill for the inaugural House of Fun Weekender is Baxter Dury. Currently enjoying critical acclaim for his third album, “Happy Soup”, Baxter’s kitchen sink vignettes and seaside psychedelia are about as perfect as it gets for a good old knees-up. Intrinsically linked to the nutty world of Madness, Baxter’s unmistakable intonations and cutting observational tales of failed romance and real lives lived run deep in his blood.

Butlins won the Tourism and Leisure Training Team Award, as well as the Overall Winner Award in the Training Team category at the Customer Service Training Awards 2011.  This event at the Minehead resort has everything you need from £142 per person (based on 4 people sharing a silver self-catering apartment) for the full 3 night break, you get your accommodation, your ticket to the main event, and access to all our venues for the entire weekend. And for the times in between the music and dancing you can visit our Splash Waterworld.
