Gotye has an additional date at London’s HMV Hammersmith Apollo on 12th November

Following February’s sold out UK tour, Gotye is not only playing to a sold out crowd at London’s HMV Hammersmith Apollo on the 12th of November but has announced an additional date at this venue on the 13th November due to high demand.

When Gotye was last in the UK his single Somebody That I Used To Know topped the charts. It has now gone on to surpass 1.2 million sales and boasts an impressive span of weeks in the Top 10.

The track has been a universal hit and is the biggest selling single in the world this year; to date it has sold over 12 million, topped the charts in 18 countries (iTunes No.1 in over 40 countries). Somebody That I Used To Know sat defiantly at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for an impressive 8 weeks, after having broken the record for a No.1 hit across four Billboard charts in the same week. The video has tallied up an astonishing 317 million YouTube hits and is still averaging over a million hits a day.

The track’s parent album Making Mirrors has sold 2 million and gone Top 10 in 17 countries (iTunes Top 10 in 30 countries). It peaked in the UK charts at No.4 and stayed in the top 10 for months after release.

Gotye released his new single I Feel Better on September 2nd.  The contrasting new single showcases Gotye's keen genre-hopping ability and remarkable vocal range. It is a joyous, up-tempo track that revisits the Motown sound of Learnalilgivinanlovin, which was the breakthrough single from Gotye’s first album Like Drawing Blood and received critical acclaim in 2006.

Gotye has made an overwhelmingly strong connection with people worldwide, not only with his unique blend of pop smarts and sonic experimentalism on record, but on the back of beautifully crafted, multifaceted live performances around the globe. They affirm him as one of the most exciting artists of this generation.
