We are as pleased as punched to announce that Folkestone Skabour Festival will be returning again for its second year. Folkestone Skabour Festival will be bringing you an even more fantastic line up of bands and DJ's.

The perfect weekend for all, for young and old - Skabour will take over the beautiful harbour of Folkestone on the weekend of 2nd – 4th September with an atmospheric setting of beaches and stunning venues.

With over twenty live bands and even more DJ’s, the event will be a non-stop party starting at the Channel Suite of the Leas Cliff Hall on the Friday and finishing at The True Briton on the Sunday night.

The festivities taking place during the day at Folkstone Harbour are completely free so bring the kids as there will be plenty of things to keep the little ones busy and entertained. Grandmas and Grandpas, Uncles and Aunts, will also be kept dancing, with a traditional right old knees up!

Co-organiser Trevor Moss says “Following the success of Folkestone Skabour Festival last year we have been overwhelmed by the demand for the event to be repeated this year and we intend to make it even bigger and better”.  Trevor has most certainly stuck to his words and Skabour will be host to some amazing acts both day and night.

The evenings are ticketed and take place in a variety of venues around Folkstone and will be bringing you the absolute best in Ska music.

Friday’s event take place at the Leas Cliff Hall and has performances from 2Tone legends The Selecter featuring Pauline Black, famous for hits such as Three Minute Hero and On My Radio. Also gracing the stage on Friday is The Beat who are back by popular demand from last years event followed by Skabilly Rebels with Roddy Radiation. Roddy Radiation is a special treat for all the SKA fans as he is member of legendary Ska band ‘The Specials’.

Saturday will be in the wonderful venue The Quarterhouse and host the fantastic sounds of The Dualers who are the current kings of ska and reggae. Recently selling out concerts at prestigious venues such as 02 Indigo at the O2 and the O2 Arena they are certainly not ones to be missed. As if this wasn’t enough they are also supported by London based band The Skanks.

Fellow organiser John Sims who is responsible for some of the 2Tone iconic band logo’s, album covers and posters says ‘We are confident that Skabour 2011 will be even bigger and better than last year’s successful festival”.
