Concern as Amman Valley pub set to host summer festival
A local councillor has expressed concern over an Amman Valley pub hosting a music festival this summer. A licensing issue has led to worries about noise, anti-social behavior, and public safety.
Cllr Kevin Madge's Concerns
Cllr Kevin Madge is concerned that the Garnant Music Festival, set to take place at Wing & Prayer Sports Bar, will lead to heavy drinking, loud noise, and potential disturbances. The pub has been granted a temporary license for the event, but Cllr Madge worries about the impact on the surrounding neighborhood.
Residents' Worries
Residents living near the pub are also worried about parking problems, disturbances, and the potential for late-night noise. Many fear that the festival will disrupt the peace and quiet of their residential area.
Public Safety Concerns
Cllr Madge believes that public safety should be a top priority and questions the adequacy of security measures for the event. He highlights the need for better consultation with local authorities and residents.
Response from Pub Owner
Despite the concerns raised, the owner of Wing and Prayer pub in Garnant, Luke Martin, expressed delight over the green light received for the music festival. Assuring a safe and well-managed event, he thanked all stakeholders for their support.
