The Fringe will showcase more than 3,853 shows from 63 countries, including comedy, theatre, dance, and musicals at various venues. The city's population will nearly double to one million during August as artists and visitors converge on Edinburgh.

About 2,000 artists are participating in EIF under the theme of "The Truth We Seek." In addition, the Edinburgh Book Festival and Edinburgh Film Festival are also part of the lineup.
