Ben and Jerrys Welcome the Wich to the Fair-Trade

Legendairy ice cream makers Ben & Jerry’s is over the moon to welcome the ‘Wich to their fair-trade family at long last!

The ‘Wich combines dairyingly delicious vanilla and chocolatey chip ice cream, sandwiched between two chewy chocolate chunk cookies.

Enjoyed by the 40,000 attendees to this year’s Ben & Jerry’s Double Scoop Sundae festivals both in London and the new Manchester site.  The Fair-trade flavours were handed out free over the weekend of the festival which had over 25 acts play across 2 days in the glorious British sunshine and had bands such as Maximo Park and Ocean Colour Scene entertaining the crowd into an almost ice creamfrenzy.

What better way to spend a weekend than tobe in a sunny park, with live bands and FREE fair-trade ice cream all weekend! Keep an eye out for the 2012 festival, bringing yet more great bands, fun and new flavours to the fair-trade family.

Ben and Jerry’s aim to make all of their ice cream in the nicest possible way; with milk from their Caring Dairy, free range eggs from happy chickens and Fair-trade ingredients where possible. As co-founder Jerry Greenfield says, “Fair-trade is about making sure people get their fair share of the pie.”
