Summer Festival of Fun in Crewe!

Over 180 FREE fantastic school holiday activities are coming to Crewe this summer! Tuesday 22nd July – Sunday 31st August 2025 (scroll down for the full schedule of activities). Our FREE summer holiday activity programme returns for its fourth year renamed as the ‘Summer Festival of Fun’ (the new name for the Operation Summer programme) – and the line-up is bigger and better than ever! Our school holiday events provide Crewe families with fun, varied and quality activities and help to reduce the financial burden of the summer holidays for parents and carers. This year, visit the Discover Crewe-on-Sea pop up beach and play in the sand, learn about digital art and animation, immerse yourself in outdoor theatre productions at Queens Park…and so much more, with opportunities to get involved in drama, crafts, science, sports, nature and wildlife! All of the activities are free to access family sessions. A small number of activities at Crewe Library require attendees to book – please check each event listing for details. For each event, children need to be accompanied by an adult at all times. The activities will take place at various community locations:

  • Crewe Library
  • Lyceum Square
  • Crewe Heritage Centre
  • Christ Church
