Ribble Valley Borough Council, which runs the festival, said many producers had sold out by lunchtime, with several sending for extra stock. Street food vendors attracted long queues throughout the day, and town centre shops also enjoyed a boost reporting increased footfall and sales, many from first-time visitors.

The festival showcased some of the UK's best food and drink, from wild game and Biltong beef to cheese truckles and curry kits, with more than 100 exhibitors taking part. This year's festival also rounded off a week of foodie events across Ribble Valley as part of the third annual Ribble Valley Taste Fest, which featured farm visits, guided walks, and distillery tours, many selling out within days of tickets going on sale.

Phenomenal Achievement

Ricky Newmark, chairman of Ribble Valley Borough Council's economic development committee, said: 'This year's Clitheroe Food Festival again attracted around 25,000 food enthusiasts, which is a phenomenal achievement. Festivalgoers from across the region enjoyed top-quality artisan produce, a feast of family entertainment and a warm Ribble Valley welcome.'

Nicola Hopkins, the council's director of economic development and planning, added: 'Our festival team worked behind the scenes for many months to bring this fantastic event to fruition and I would like to thank them for their sterling efforts.'
