A world-renowned baroque quartet, Red Priest, is set to perform at Cartmel Priory in a south Cumbrian village this week. The quartet, formed in 1997, will showcase pieces from a variety of Baroque composers including Vivaldi, Bach, Handel, and Royer. The performance will take place on Thursday night at Cartmel Priory.

The quartet consists of Piers Adams (recorder), Julia Bishop (violin), Angela East (cello), and David Wright (harpsichord). Red Priest has performed around the globe in countries such as the US, Canada, Australia, and Japan. The group has received reviews from prestigious publications like the New York Times and BBC Music Magazine.

Lake District Summer Music Festival

The performance at Cartmel Priory is part of the Lake District Summer Music Festival's 40th anniversary edition. The festival, which started on August 1, features performances in various venues including Ambleside Parish Church, Victoria Hall in Grange-over-Sands, and Holker Hall and Gardens. The festival will conclude with a finale at Kendal Leisure Centre on Sunday, August 10.
