Houghton Festival returns to historic Houghton Hall in Norfolk, offering a unique blend of music, history, and hedonism with over 200 artists performing.
Houghton Festival returns to Norfolk for summer 2025
Where powdered wigs once graced the halls, bucket hats now rule the lawns. Houghton Hall in north Norfolk, the grand estate once home to Britain’s first prime minister, Sir Robert Walpole, becomes the beating heart of the UK’s only 24-hour music festival.
The festival draws electronic music lovers from around the world to a setting where history and hedonism collide, and this year's festival is a sell-out.
Founded by DJ Craig Richards in 2017 when he turned 50, Houghton Festival draws ravers from around the world to dance beneath centuries-old trees and starlit skies.
More than 200 artists will perform across 13 stages from Thursday to Sunday (August 7-10), with music playing somewhere on the Houghton Estate site at all times.
The Quarry Stage would have totalled the number of stages to 14, however, organisers say it is "still unwell" after heavy rain in Spring last year saw it submerged beneath two metres of water.
The festival has gained traction among loyal followers of Mr Richards and lovers of underground music. Away from the music is a floating restaurant situated on the picturesque lake within the centre of the site, a sauna and massage area, art tours, shops and an array of food stalls.
The first Houghton Festival was held in 2017, with 2019 cancelled due to dangerous weather conditions and 2020 and 2021 amid the COVID pandemic.
