The Fiery Foods (FFUK) Festival returns for its 5th year from the 14th - 16th September 2012 at Victoria Gardens.

The Fiery Foods (FFUK) Festival returns for its 5th year from the 14th - 16th September 2012 at Victoria Gardens, Brighton and is expected to be even hotter with some new editions.

New for this Year at FFUK
Together with the infamous chilli eating contest, this year’s Fiery Foods Festival will be bigger and better with the hottest food in the world, the live music, more exhibitors, cookery demonstrations and new competitions as well as a few famous faces. 

Thank FFUK its Friday
A new edition to FFUK – Friday night which will see an extended assortment of chilli events including a World Record attempt, live music and the Man Vs Fire event with special guest compare – Internet sensation Matt Whistler who may even take part in the challenges.

Man V Fire Event
FFUK’s food challenge event is inspired by the American TV series Man V Food which sees presenter Adam Richman travelling the states seeking the nation’s finest eating challenges. Now Brighton has its very own Man V Fire event. 

For the first time in FFUK history, there will be a sumptuous buffet of cheeky chilli treats on offer including the hottest pizza in the world courtesy Paul’s Pizza and the hottest burger in the world courtesy of Burger Off Hove.

If this does not satisfy your sizzling taste buds, for desert there will be an opportunity to try ‘Death By Naga’ – a desert made from The Naga Bhut Jolokia once crowned the hottest chilli in the world with a Scoville Rating of 330,000 – 1,000,000.

Your challenge (if you choose to accept it) will be to eat as much of these hot treats in 10 minutes. You will be joined by special guests Ted ‘The fire Breathing Dragon Idiot’ from Washington, USA and Tony ‘Darth Naga’ Ainsworth - reviewer from popular website ‘The Chilli Foundry’.

The music line up for FFUK 2012 is looking strong with confirmed acts including:

Guinness World Record Attempt – Most Jalapeno Chilli Peppers Eaten in 1 Minute
FFUK will be breaking records and turning heads with a challenge not for the faint hearted. Chris ‘The Lurch’ Saunders will attempt to break the world record for the most jalapeno chilli peppers eaten in one minute. Current record holder Alfredo Hernandes from the USA ate 16 Jalapenos in 1 minute back in 2006 at the La Costeña Feel the Heat Challenge in Chicago. Come and watch Chris make history on Friday 14th September.

Competitions
As well as an abundance of chilli flavoured entertainment, there will be food making competitions and demonstrations open to all from budding amateurs to seasonal professionals.

The Amateur Hot Sauce Competition
The Amateur Hot Sauce Competition will be held on Sunday 16th September to find the best home-made chilli products from pickles to chutneys or even something different like cakes, pasta or alcohol depending on how adventurous the participants.

Plant Growing Area at FFUK
For top chilli tips, come along to the ‘grow your own’ demonstrations by Craig McKnight and Growell Hydroponics who will teach you everything for both regular soils and hydroponics systems so bring your chilli queries to the FFUK ‘Chilli Gardeners’ Question Time.

Chilli Eating Contest
Once again the obligatory FFUK Chilli Eating Contest will be held on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September. Compete with the worlds’ ‘maddest and baddest chilli heads’ in a bid to win prizes and of course the coveted FFUK Chilli eating Contest trophy. Register now as places are filling up fast for a chance to be crowned the 2012 FFUK Chilli Eating Champion.
