15 May - 17 May 2026
Nestled in the rolling Chiltern Hills, Wood Festival is a truly special three-day gathering of music lovers, artists, families and nature enthusiasts. From 15-17 May 2026, come experience the magic of Braziers Park (near Wallingford) as it transforms into a friendly, creative village. This award-winning festival is known for its intimate atmosphere - not as huge as city events, but big on heart. Everyone is welcome, and you'll quickly feel at home among the towering trees, wildflowers and fire-lit paths.
In just three days, Wood Festival packs in a lively mix of acoustic and electric sounds across multiple stages. Folk and indie bands serenade the forest by day, while DJs and dance acts keep the energy high when the sun goes down. There's always something going on - you might start the morning with birdsong and gentle guitar, and end the evening dancing under the stars. Beyond the stages, a bustling marketplace of local crafts and organic food stalls means you can savor fresh, locally-sourced fare or grab a handcrafted souvenir any time you please.
We believe learning should be fun: Wood's schedule is filled with interactive workshops and creative activities. Try your hand at making a flute out of a carrot, take part in a drumming circle, or join a yoga class in the meadow. Storytelling, poetry and puppet shows entertain all day long - even a pedal-powered silent disco lights up the night! Meanwhile our 'Kindling' stage hosts inspiring talks about nature and culture, giving you plenty to think about as you wander between tents. All of this unfolds in the ultimate classroom of nature.
Environmental sustainability is at the heart of Wood Festival. The whole site is powered by renewable energy (solar panels and biofuel generators), so you can enjoy the music guilt-free! The festival's eco-friendly ethos shows in everything: recycling bins and compost toilets are everywhere, vegetarian and vegan meals are the norm, and decorations are handmade with care. It's the perfect place to unplug from city life, breathe fresh country air and reconnect with the earth. Many visitors say it feels refreshing to celebrate the outdoors and be mindful at the same time.
Wood is proudly family-friendly. Kids have a blast in the dedicated Kids' Village, with arts and crafts, puppet shows, face-painting and storytellers all day long. Teens can escape to the Teen Tent, where workshops range from yoga and dance to creative writing and even a pedal-powered silent disco. Bring the whole family – everyone from toddlers to grandparents will find something to love: children building stick forts in the woods, parents sharing laughs around campfires, and new friends being made over dinner. Every generation feels at home at Wood.
Above all, Wood is built on community. Despite hosting hundreds of people, the festival never feels overwhelming - you might bump into someone you met here last year while grabbing a cup of tea, or join a spontaneous drum circle on a lamplit path. Whether you're an art lover, a nature-lover or just looking to escape the routine, Wood feels like a welcoming home in the woods. Pack your wellies and your sense of wonder for a weekend you won't forget.
Braziers Park is surprisingly accessible by public transportation. The nearest mainline stations are Cholsey (2 miles away) and Didcot Parkway (6 miles), both served by frequent Great Western trains from London (Paddington), Reading and Oxford. From there you can catch the Thames Travel X40 bus toward Wallingford: ask the driver to stop at 'Braziers Lane', which is only a short (five-minute) walk from the festival entrance. If you’re coming from Oxford, the same X40 (or X39) departs from Gloucester Green and goes via Wallingford. Once in Wallingford, local buses (for example service 134) or taxis can cover the final few miles to reach Braziers Park.
Nearby airports include London Heathrow (about 40 miles away) and London Gatwick (about 60 miles). From Heathrow you can take the Heathrow Express or Tube into Paddington, then a train westwards to Reading or Didcot. Gatwick also has fast rail connections to Reading. Stansted and Luton airports are farther away, requiring travel via London. In most cases, arriving at Reading or Oxford by train and then taking the X40 or a taxi is the simplest way to reach the site. National Express coaches to Oxford or Reading are another option, with onward local connections to Wallingford.
Wallingford is easily accessible by car. From the west or London, take the M4 to exit 8/9 (Maidenhead/Gerrards Cross) and follow the A404/A4130 toward Henley-on-Thames, then join the A4074 south to Wallingford. From the north, use the M40 via Oxford (or the A34 via Didcot) and then head down the A4074. The final miles run through narrow countryside lanes, so drive carefully. For GPS navigation, use the postcode for Braziers Park (OX10 6AN, Ipsden) or search for 'Braziers Park Ipsden'. Onsite parking is available with your festival ticket, but spaces can be limited on busy days – car-sharing is encouraged.
Accommodation: Camping on-site is included with your weekend ticket. Simply bring your tent or camper van and use the communal camping fields (toilets, showers and water points are provided). If you’d prefer a bed, the Braziers Park house occasionally offers a few rooms (check the festival info). Otherwise, the historic town of Wallingford (about 5 miles north) has cozy B&Bs and inns, and nearby villages like Benson and Crowmarsh have guesthouses. Oxford and Reading (roughly 30 minutes away) offer larger hotels if you don't mind a short drive. Wherever you stay, book early – lodging fills up fast around festival dates, and local transport can be busy.
