23 January - 25 January 2026 King Street Social Club, 27 King St North Shields, North Shields, NE301BZ
Experience the heart and soul of roots music right here in Northumberland! The Tyneside Americana Blues Festival returns for another unforgettable weekend from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th January 2026. Set in the historic King Street Social Club in North Shields (NE30 1BZ), this multi-day festival brings together the best of blues, country, folk, and Americana traditions. Whether you’re a longtime fan or just curious to hear the blues live, prepare to immerse yourself in electrifying guitar riffs, soulful vocals, and a warm, friendly atmosphere that’s sure to chase away those mid-winter blues.
For three evenings and two days, the festival will pulse with live music on multiple stages. You’ll find legendary artists and talented newcomers sharing the bill - everything from raw Delta blues and swampy rock to melodic folk and rootsy acoustic sets. Tap your foot to classic blues numbers, sway to soulful country, and sing along with heartfelt ballads. Between sets, mingle with fellow music lovers, swap stories, and soak in the vibrant community spirit. Each hour brings something fresh and exciting, so you’ll want to wander between stages and catch as much of the action as you can.
We've curated a lineup that will lift everyone's spirits. Expect powerhouse blues bands, fiery slide guitar solos, and soulful singer-songwriters who'll have you singing along. The unexpected often happens - local legends might drop in for surprise jams, adding extra magic to the weekend. Plus, since our festival wraps up on Sunday (Burns Night, a traditional Scottish celebration), you can feel the extra spark as we toast to those rich musical traditions. Each performance is guaranteed to be a special moment you'll remember long after the festival ends.
What makes the Tyneside Americana Blues Festival truly special is the friendly, down-to-earth vibe. Our venue - King Street Social Club - has been lovingly restored and is the perfect backdrop for this gathering. Kick back with a pint or two at the bar, enjoy hearty pub food (including local ales and classic snacks), or move into the concert room when a hot new band takes the stage. The staff and community are incredibly welcoming, making you feel right at home whether you’re nodding along to the music or chatting with new friends in the lounge. It’s the kind of setting where stories get swapped, songs get passed around, and by the end of each night everyone is heading home with a big smile.
Whether you’re a die-hard blues buff or just someone who loves great live music, this festival will leave you smiling. It's the perfect remedy for the January blues! People always say it feels like a big family reunion where everyone knows the lyrics and there's always room for one more in the dance crowd. So gather your friends, mark your calendars, and get ready. The Tyneside Americana Blues Festival is coming - we can't wait to share the music with you! Don't miss out on this celebration of music and friendship - we'll see you in North Shields soon.
