The Folk Gathering

The Folk Gathering is, quite simply, a grand gathering of friends and friends to be, many of whom are Folk Musicians and Singers, who come together to share music, songs and fellowship in an informal atmosphere, and to enjoy performances from some of our favourite national folk celebrities and some of the immensely talented local acts.

Come early to The Folk Gathering or stay on after for as long as you like. There is so much to see and do in this very special part of the Peak District. The rivers of the Manifold and Dove valleys inspired Isaac Walton and Charles Cotton to pen ‘The Compleat Angler’. The walks over the hills of Ecton, Alstonefield and Wetton mesh superbly with the Manifold Valley and Beresford, Dove and Narrow Dales.. Visitors often join local folkies to enjoy their favourite rambles (a particular favourite includes five pubs!) Or bring your bikes to explore the Manifold and Tissington Trails which are both close by.
