St Albans MusicCity takes place from Saturday 16th to Sunday 24th March at various venues in and around St Albans, Hertfordshire. The festival is a celebration of the vibrant St Albans live music scene and encompasses a wide variety of music styles from folk to rock and metal, alongside Traditional Music Sessions, music quizzes, open mic sessions and a Battle Of The Bands.
Most of the events are free (there are a few paid-for events from about £5-£25) and the top 3 bands or solo acts winners of the Battle of the Bands (any unsigned band may enter) will go through to play the second band showcase, MCU2, at The Alban Arena on Saturday 16th March 2013.
