Live In Barnsley
‘LIVE in Barnsley’ is a FREE Metropolitan Music Festival which is spread over a number of venues in a fairly compact area of Barnsley town centre. The festival was the brainchild of Dave Pearsall and Steve Clifford over a late night pint in a local music venue back in December 2012. It takes place in June each year on the longest day.
The aim of the festival is to showcase the diverse musical talents our town and the surrounding region has to offer. We really like the idea that people can wander in and out of venues to watch bands they know and sometimes experience the music of bands they have never heard of but then become a fan. This strategy has worked well at similar metropolitan music festivals such as ‘Sheffield Tramlines’ and ‘Live at Leeds,’ we make no bones about it; they are the main influence behind LIB.
