By car, West Bay Fields is accessed via the A35 just outside Bridport. Use postcode DT6 5LB or follow signs for 'West Bay' and 'Jurassic Fields'. From the north or west, take the M5 motorway (exit 25 toward Taunton) and then the A358/A35 to Bridport. From the east (for example, coming from London or Bournemouth), use the A31/A35 toward Weymouth and Bridport. On summer weekends the coastal roads can be busy, so allow extra travel time. The festival provides on-site parking for ticket holders, but spaces are limited - car-sharing or arriving early is recommended.
By train and bus: Bridport itself has no train station. The nearest stations are Axminster (10 miles east) and Crewkerne (13 miles northwest), on the London-Exeter line. From these, take a taxi or a connecting bus to Bridport. First Wessex buses X51 and X53 link Bridport with Weymouth, Axminster and Exeter. Bridport's bus station is served by routes to Weymouth, Dorchester and Exeter - buses or taxis from there will take you on to West Bay (about 2 miles away). Check local timetables for the latest schedules.
By air or coach: The closest airport is Exeter (about a 1.5-hour drive). Other options include Bournemouth (around 2 hours) and Bristol (about 2.5 hours). You can rent a car at these airports, or mix and match trains and buses. For example, fly into Exeter and take a train to Axminster or Weymouth, then hop on a local bus (X51/X53) to Bridport. From London, travel by train or coach to Weymouth or Dorchester, then catch a bus or taxi for the last leg. National Express coaches serve Dorchester and Weymouth, each with onward buses to Bridport. Plan your journey in advance for the best connections.
Accommodation: The festival has its own campsite included with weekend tickets, so you can stay on-site under canvas if you like. Nearby West Bay Holiday Park and other campgrounds (accepting tents, caravans and campervans) are a short drive or walk away. Bridport town offers a range of accommodations - guesthouses, B&Bs, hotels and holiday cottages - often booking up fast in peak season. West Bay village also has self-catering flats and small inns. Wherever you stay, it's wise to reserve early. At the end of each day, taxis and local buses run between Bridport and West Bay to bring visitors safely back after the festival.
