By Train and Bus: East Grinstead is well connected by rail to London and the surrounding region. Southern Railway runs frequent trains from London Victoria and London Bridge to East Grinstead, a journey of roughly 50 minutes. For travelers arriving by air, London Gatwick Airport is the closest major hub (about 30 minutes away by car), and regular trains from Gatwick (via Crawley or Three Bridges) connect to East Grinstead in about 20–30 minutes. Once in town, local buses (operated by Metrobus) can carry you on to nearby villages, though many visitors simply catch a taxi or rideshare from the train station to reach the festival site.
By Car and Plane: East Grinstead lies just off the main A22 and A264 roads, making it easy to reach by car. Visitors from London typically take the M25/A22 southeast toward Eastbourne, while those coming from the Gatwick/Crawley area use the A264 westward. For GPS navigation, use the postcode RH19 4QS to find the festival site – but remember that rural lanes nearby are narrow and can slow your approach. Gatwick Airport is only about 30 minutes away by road, while London Heathrow is roughly 1.5–2 hours away via the motorways. (Stansted, Luton and London City airports are farther off, generally reached by train via central London.) On festival days, limited parking is available on site (often for a small fee), and there are public car parks in East Grinstead if you plan to stay in town.
Local Accommodations and Tips: The town of East Grinstead offers a mix of hotels, B&Bs and guesthouses, along with cafes, pubs and shops in its historic centre. Many festival-goers will stay on site in camping or glamping (if reservations are available), while others may prefer a cozy room nearby. Since this is a popular Bank Holiday weekend, it’s smart to book rooms or campsites early. Nearby towns like Haywards Heath or Crawley can serve as backup options with more hotels (both are about 20–30 minutes away by car). Keep in mind that East Grinstead town centre is compact and easily explored on foot, but local buses and taxis are available for any trip outside town. A little planning ahead – from transport connections to overnight stays – will go a long way in making your festival trip smooth and enjoyable.
