Dorchester festival Dorchester festival

Dorchester festival

Since 2005 the Festival has regularly attracted over 3,000 people each year, from serious followers of the arts to schools, families and children of all ages and has raised significant profile and over £50,000 for Dorchester Abbey and local charities.

The Festival focuses on professional events with an intentionally broad appeal making links with local businesses and schools, encouraging many people to get involved with the arts for the first time. We have played host to many famous orchestras and popular bands, from the Tallis Scholars to a sellout drumming workshop with Phil Selway of Radiohead and a Come and Sing with John Rutter. We have welcomed famous authors such as Philip Pullman, Michael Morpurgo and Colin Dexter, and many well known celebrities such as Douglas Hodge, Raymond Blanc, Peter Guinness, who all gave their time free of charge to support our cause.
