Black Deer in the City

Black Deer in the City is a vibrant two-day celebration of country, folk and Americana music in the heart of London. Set inside the historic Tobacco Dock venue, the festival brings a taste of the American South to East London with multiple stages of live performances and a friendly, laid-back atmosphere. Attendees can tap their toes to everything from bluegrass and roots rock to soulful singer-songwriter sets, with both established artists and up-and-coming talent on stage. Between sets, visitors enjoy authentic Southern-style food (think smoky barbecue and sweet treats), craft beers and whisky cocktails, while browsing a festive market of artisan and vintage stalls for boots, hats and more.

The whole event feels like a citywide country fair – picture hay bales, fiddle tunes and string lights in an old warehouse setting. In addition to great music and food, there are fun contests like chili and hot-dog eating challenges, as well as workshops and craft areas for families. Newcomers and city-dwellers alike will find a warm welcome among friendly crowds, so this is a perfect weekend outing for everyone. All in all, Black Deer in the City offers two days of live tunes, tasty eats and genuine community spirit – a slice of Americana you can enjoy without ever leaving London.
