Now in its 68th year the Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts offers a varied mix of concerts, opera, masterclasses, films and open air performances across Aldeburgh and the nearby area of Snape in Suffolk. The festival brings together a wide range of different artists and festival goers to ensure an event which satisfies on many levels.
In 2015 the event is under the artistic direction of Pierre-Laurent Aimard and there are a wide range of different artists, shows and live events to enjoy. The Festival opens with the premier of the chamber opera The Cure in a double bill with The Corridor, both by Harrison Birtwistle. Other resident artists and ensembles include the Doric Quartet, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Alice Coote and Isabelle Faust.
The Aldeburgh Festival also features walks, talks, films and a packed Fringe programme.
